Hello! Welcome to my website, thanks for taking a look around.
I am a London-based writer, editor and award-winning journalist. Prior to embarking on a freelance career, I spent four years on the features desk at the fantastic Stylist magazine where I commissioned high-profile writers; edited some brilliant, bizarre and ground-breaking features; and wrote about everything from fashion to feminism.
Now, as a freelancer I write women’s interest, lifestyle and travel content for national magazines, newspapers and websites, including Marie Claire, the Guardian, The Telegraph, Metro, The i newspaper, Cosmopolitan, Glamour, Women's Health, Grazia, BBC Good Food, Stylist, Conde Nast Brides and Escapism.
For the sake of a good story I have proselytised with Mormons, weathered a tumultuous stay at an intensive anger management retreat, been behind the scenes at a blood-spattered abattoir and spent four days in the company of controversial topless protest group FEMEN at their squat in north Paris. I also once travelled to Goa to ride with India’s first feminist motorcycle gang. It was awesome.
I am a wildlife obsessive (one of my favourite assignments involved animal-spotting from a hot air balloon above the Serengeti) and have been lucky enough to travel around the world to produce travel content for some of my favourite magazines and websites. I am forever in search of more grizzly bears and my dream wildlife experience would be snorkelling with narwhals in Arctic Canada (no biggie).
I have won a number of awards for my work. In addition to being named New Consumer Journalist of the Year at the PTC New Talent awards in 2014 and being shortlisted in the Writer of the Year category at the prestigious PPA awards, I have also been shortlisted as Best Print Writer at the BSME Rising Star awards and was very pleased to be named on MHP’s 30 to Watch list. My piece on kayaking with hippos and crocs in Botswana’s Okavango Delta was also recently shortlisted for best travel feature at the Travel Media Awards. (Hurrah!).
Please do not hesitate to get in touch with any commissions, questions or general musings.
